Armed Forces Day is a chance to show your support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community: from currently serving troops to service families, veterans and cadets. There are many ways for people, communities and organisations across the country to show their support and get involved, from attending an event or joining us online, to throwing a party or local event.

British Forces Resettlement Services (BFRS) hold a programme of National Employment & Career Events throughout the year and around the country. These events give the Armed Forces Community (AFC) the opportunity to meet employers, training providers, charities and associations, face to face to see what support, education and employment is available to them. The support doesn’t stop at Armed Forces Day.

BFRS are back in Aldershot on the 11th July 2019 for the National Employment & Careers fair for the AFC and are urging companies to get involved.

Attendees are urged to bring their CVs along with them to benefit from a FREE CV-health check or book on to a 1 to 1 military resettlement coaching workshop.  In the past, employers attending the event have been particularly impressed by those attendees who have researched the exhibiting companies and brought along their CV and record of achievements to demonstrate their skills.

BFRS founder Harry Dean says “Support should be offered to all those who are involved in the resettlement process. This is why we are keen for partners and family members to capitalise on the support BFRS has available for those connected with the Armed Forces. We welcome to our events all ranks and their families ranging from those still serving to those who left some time ago.

“The Surveillance Group have worked closely with BFRS for many years now. We pride ourselves on employing ex-military personnel and a great amount have found us via BFRS events.” Lee Mahoney

“NTRS are supporters and members of BFRS. We always have a fantastic response at their well organised events. Highly recommended organisation and one that shares our passion for supporting those through their resettlement process.” NTRS

Attend the event free of charge by registering at https://www.bfrss.org.uk/Events/July-2019/National-Employment-Careers-Fair-Aldershot.aspx

About BFRS

BFRS is a Community Interest Company (CIC). A Social Enterprise that was created to work in support of the Armed Forces Community. It was established in September 2009 by the company CEO Harry Dean.

A CIC is a business with primarily social objectives whose surpluses are principally reinvested for that purpose in the business or in the community (for us the Armed Forces Community), rather than being driven by the need to maximise profit for shareholders and owners. CICs tackle a wide range of social and environmental issues. For us it is to ensure the AFC are not disadvantaged due to their service.

BFRS works as the focal point between the Armed Forces Community (AFC) and commercial businesses, helping the AFC to engage face-2-face and digitally with companies across the UK and enhancing their transition back into society and from career to career.
