Early Years programme: Grants to enhance pre-school learning for Service children
Applications are now open for the Early Years programme which will fund projects that enhance learning for Service children aged 0-5 years, from serving Armed Forces families and create and enhance great places to learn and develop.
The Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust (the Trust) is working with the MOD to deliver funding to high quality projects that will have significant impacts for Armed Forces families through the Armed Forces Families Fund.
Funding to support Service families
Applications are invited from nurseries that are located on or near an Armed Forces base or unit and are attended by significant numbers of Service children. Successful applications will need to show a good relationship with the local Service community, and you’ll need to have a letter of endorsement from a senior officer at the base or unit.
Anna Wright, Chief Executive of the Trust, said:
“We are delighted to announce the launch of this programme, which will make a small number of significant grants that will have a positive impact for Service families; ensuring they can access good quality Early Years learning provision for their children.”
Early Years focus:
Under this programme the Trust will award grants of £20,000 - £80,000 on behalf of the MOD’s Armed Forces Families Fund towards projects lasting up to two years. These projects should help enhance Early Years learning environments to meet specific needs of children from Armed Forces families.
Applications can only address the needs of children who are from currently serving Armed Forces families and who are aged 0-5 and are not yet in primary school education.
Applications must be submitted by 5 December 2022.
