The Cumbrian Challenge is military charity Walking With The Wounded’s annual flagship
fundraising event for individuals, organisations and companies who want to show
their support and experience a memorable team-building weekend in the Lake
District, alongside those who have been directly supported by the charity.
WWTW targets those who have fallen the furthest, men and
women struggling with mental health issues, unemployment, homelessness or
caught in police custody. By providing early intervention programmes and
speeding up access to therapy we are changing the lives of veterans and,
crucially, their families.

have also taken part! This is what they had to say about the Cumbrian
“As adventure events go,
WWTW has created an amazing formula, which is testing individually whilst
simultaneously providing huge enjoyment. WWTW's collaboration across their
community of staff, beneficiaries, and volunteers, supporters and donors is not
only hugely effective but undertaken with a sense of fun. Thank you for another
terrific event". JIM GOODWIN
“The reason we got
involved with WWTW, and particularly the Cumbrian Challenge, is because I spent
35 years as a nuclear sub mariner in the Royal Navy and we’re really keen
to do more to show that the Armed Forces covenant is more than just a piece of
paper.” IAN LOFTHOUSE
Director Nuclear Integration, Submarines, BAE Systems
