SSAFA’s The Big Brew Up Returns to Tidworth

Date: Thursday September 1, 2016 at 1:29pm

On Thursday 15th September, BFRS are hosting a Jobs & Careers Fair at Tidworth Leisure Centre, sponsored by Bristol Management Centre. The event is aimed at Service Leavers, the Reserve Forces, Veterans, MOD employees, as well as their partners and families. Tedworth House, one of five Military Recovery Centres for Service personnel who are wounded, injured and sick, have also been invited to bring those ready to make the sometimes daunting transition into “Civilian Street”.

One of the key aspects of resettlement is finding a civilian career, British Forces Resettlement Services (BFRS), a Social Enterprise focuses on helping the Armed Forces Community through this part of the transition process and beyond. They work with employers and training providers who understand the skills and requirement of this group, as well as support and advice services specialising in this transition. Additional to the online service, BFRS do this through Job & Career Fairs held around the country, and these are a great way to really see this in action.

BFRS are very proud to announce and welcome Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association (SSAFA), the longest serving national tri-service military charity, will be there to provide refreshments as part of their scheme, The Big Brew Up. SSAFA make a big difference to the lives of serving men and women, veterans and their families. The Big Brew Up is SSAFA's biggest fundraising event of the year.  SSAFA are asking you, wherever you are in the world, to hold a tea party to raise money. As part of this charity campaign, BFRS have welcomed SSAFA to run the Networking & Refreshments area providing teas, coffees, cakes and delicious treats throughout our Tidworth event.

BFRS Job & Career Fairs are an opportunity for those attending to meet with employers, training providers and support services in person. There are also opportunities available for FREE CV advice with Sian Richardson from Forces CVs. Attendees can also leave their CV with the BFRS team to distribute to employers following the event

There will be over 5,000 jobs available on the day from a variety of exhibitors from a mixture of industries regionally and nationally. More than 450 people are expected to attend on the day, and employers exhibiting will include;
