Storeman (Store person) (166ww) – Chelmsford - £20-£26k

Our client is both a manufacturer and a distributor and supplier to industry.
Producing wide range of control, instrumentation and relay products and their stores receive, and despatch finished goods and components to and from the UK and Northern Ireland, Europe, the Far East and the USA.

Our client is looking for a store’s person, must be physically fit, diligent and computer literate and have logistical and stores background to join their team.
To be trained to take over the Deputy Stores Manager Role in the future.

Job Specification
The stores personnel must be physically fit, diligent and computer literate. They must be honest and willing to respect other members of staff irrespective of race, religion, sex or ethnicity.
Creation of purchase orders and recording goods inwards / outwards using.
Company bespoke software.
Ensure checks to verify stock levels for re-ordering are accurate and appropriate. To take delivery of goods delivered into Companies Stores, with the use of forklifts where required.
Ensure that goods are checked off in an accurate and timely manner and check for damages and quantity.
Update computer system to enable accurate stock levels.
Forklift experience would be ideal.

Skills required.
The Storeman is responsible for ensuring that goods received into or sent out from the Company are in good condition and correspond with the correct paperwork to ensure accurate stocks/records are held and customer deliveries are despatched on a right first-time basis.
Experience of working in a similar role, involving work in stores, driving and yard.
Responsibilities for a minimum of two years, or equivalent experience.
A knowledge of good practice relating to Health and Safety Regulations
• Forklift Licence (Desirable, the company would provide fork lift training as current forklift licence is crucial for this role).
