Ride to Arnhem for ABF The Soldiers’ Charity.

COVID -19. In these uncertain times we are planning to go ahead with this event. We will monitor the situation carefully in case we are required to change dates or alter the itinerary.

Join us on the 331-mile ride to Arnhem in five days. From 5th-10th September 2021, commemorate the Battle of the Bridges of September 1944.

Starting in UK cycling through France, Belgium and Holland.

Take on the 331-mile challenge.

From 5th-10th September 2021, this cycle ride will be a tough physical challenge – we’ll be covering an average of over 65 miles a day with some days over 80 miles.

Enjoy the same level of care as in previous rides with ABF The Soldiers’ Charity including an historian, full vehicle support, mechanic, doctor, three meals a day (other than on the ferry) and a route which we genuinely believe is unique and far better than other charity rides as you will experience the complete extent of the Battle for The Bridges of Operation Market Garden in September 1944.

The Event

Registration will take place at St Martin’s Plain Camp, Folkestone on Sunday 5th September 2021 prior to crossing the channel by ferry from Dover to Dunkirk. From there riders will cover the route of the British 2nd Army from the Normandy Breakout to the landing zones north of Arnhem in Holland. The route will cover the battles of the US 82nd and 101st Airborne Division landings at Eindhoven and Nijmegen and the British 1st Airborne Division at Arnhem which saw action in September 1944 after the Battle for Normandy. The return route to Dunkirk will be by coach returning to Folkestone by late afternoon on Friday 10th September 2021.

During this commemorative cycle ride you will pass places of huge significance that changed the course of history and there will be ample opportunities to pay your respects to the sacrifices made by British, American, Polish and other Allied Forces.

Show your support for our soldiers today by taking part and raising money in aid of ABF The Soldie
