SRM Alumni Networking Evening with Guest Speaker Lee Spencer GUESTS
On Thursday 4th July the Security Risk Management Alumni will be hosting our second Networking evening of 2019. This event is taking place at the Courthouse Hotel, Great Marlborough St, Soho, London, where you will have the opportunity to network with like-minded individuals from across both the public and private Security Sectors in the comfort of an ideally positioned location. We are honoured and delighted to welcome Lee (Frank) Spencer to the SRM Alumni stage as our Guest Speaker for the night. Lee, a single leg amputee, is the first physically disabled person to have rowed solo across the Atlantic. He smashed the previous able-bodied record, set by Stein Hoff in 2002, by over a month and gained three new World Records. Not only did Lee want to keep wounded service men and women in the nation's conscience, he was also raising money for the Royal Marines Charity and the Endeavour Fund. .
Leaving Portugal on 9 January 2019, Lee crossed the line on 11 March 2019 in French Guiana, South America, at 60 days, 16 hours and 6 minutes. He had rowed unsupported for a total of 3,500 miles. From dealing with gigantic waves to whales, sharks, technical issues and ilnesses along the way, lee certainly has one hell of a story to tell.
We kindly ask Guests to arrive at the Courthouse Hotel promptly at around 7 - 7.30pm, where you will receive welcome drinks and be able to listen to the welcoming speech from a member of the SRM Alumni team. We will then invite you into the cinema room where I’m sure Lee will give you one of the most Motivational/Inspirational talks you would have heard. There will be a further selection of complimentary Drinks available (Beer, Wine and Soft Drinks) as well as canapes throughout the night. Once this runs dry, there will be a cash bar available with the evening ending around 11pm. Tickets for this event to SRM Alumni members are £20 and £30 to Guests.
The Dress Code for the evening is Smart/Casual Dress (no Trainers).
