Studying for a PT Qualification throughout the COVID-19 Outbreak

With the COVID-19 outbreak, the country is facing one of its most difficult periods since World War II. Many of us now find ourselves having to stay at home and walk away from our usual daily routines. This is particularly frustrating to fitness enthusiasts who are used to being active all the time.

During the outbreak, there is undoubtedly going to mean a lot of additional time at home to spend on new things. Whilst some fitness enthusiasts may have to consider new pastimes, others may indeed see this period as a good time to invest in yourself by taking a Personal Trainer course.

Thanks to advancements in educational technology it is now possible, if studying with the right provider, to complete your learning at home during the COVID-19 outbreak. By using state of the art online virtual learning environments, video recordings, interactive quizzes, pod casts, online lectures and a whole other range of media all learning outcomes of a PT qualification can be studied from home.

Of course, there must also be live interaction in place, this should come from regular remote tutorials, Skype or Zoom, live webinars and live chats. So no need to worry about social distancing! With the right provider, this is all now possible.

In terms of assessments, whilst coursework can be easily sent over, there is also new, exam board approved, technology that lets students sit theory assessments from home, thus removing the need for any contact with another person, so keeping onside with the social distancing guidelines!

Obviously practical assessments are going to be difficult during the outbreak as gyms are closed, but these can be deferred to the end (since eight out of ten units of a PT course are theory, this still gives students a lot to be getting on with). Once gyms re open then students can focus on their practical exams by attending in person or, if preferred, recording their exams in a local gyms.

Further, any provider with integrity would likely invite you to attend practical workshops retrospectively so you don’t miss out on the all-important practical skills.

Its fair to say, many expect a boom in the fitness industry once gyms reopen, so many are seeing this period of isolation to be an ideal time to study and then be all ready to take advantage of the boom once gyms open their doors again.

An ELCAS approved provider who is offering all of the above innovations and flexibility throughout the COVID-19 outbreak is Study Active. Please contact Study Active direct for more details on how they can help. They can be reached on info@studyactive.co.uk or via 0345 017 8733
