All systems go for Forces Families Jobs

Date: Friday November 8, 2019 at 4:11pm

Forces Families Jobs is an exciting new employment and training platform specifically designed to support service families into meaningful employment and provide opportunities for training and development.

It’s being delivered by a tri-Service partnership between the Naval Families Federation (NFF), Army Families Federation (AFF) and Royal Air Force Families Federation (RAF-FF).

The aim of the project is to create a platform that bridges the gaps between spouses, partners and family members of current serving personnel, those organisations who have signed up to the Armed Forces Covenant and those organisations offering training and development opportunities as well as access to careers information.

Who can use it?

Employers who have signed the Armed Forces Covenant

Any organisation that has signed the Covenant can advertise their job opportunities free of charge. As an employer, it’s an opportunity to promote their organisation and showcase their commitment towards fulfilling the Covenant. They will also be able to access a large database of armed forces family members from all three services.*

Training providers who demonstrate a commitment to the armed forces community

Training providers who are offering training or career opportunities without charge and companies who are offering a discount specifically for armed forces families on a training course.

Spouses, partners and family members of current serving military personnel

  • Spouses, partners and family members of current regular and reservist personnel
  • Spouses, partners, and family members of service personnel who have left the armed forces within the last 12 months
  • Bereaved spouses, partners and family members for up to two years.

Promoting the Covenant

For employers to be able to advertise on the site, they will have to be Armed Forces Covenant signatories.

The advantage of this is that partners, spouses and family members can be reassured that the employers are aware of the challenges presented by the military lifestyle, won’t discriminate against them because of this and are committed to supporting this community.

About the site

The site has been designed to be easy to use. It’s mobile friendly and has all the regular job site functionality.

Jobseekers can register to create an account, upload their CV or build a CV, create job alerts and search for jobs.

Employers have already begun signing up and currently there are in excess of 175 employers, including Amazon UK, Babcock, Fujitsu, Hilton International Hotels, QinetiQ, Vodafone, NHS Trusts and local councils.

The site will go live on 17 September 2019.

If you have any queries or if you’re an employer who would like to sign up, contact

For spouses and family members who want to sign up, keep an eye out on the Naval, Army and RAF Families Federations social media or register on the site on 17 September.

*Disclaimer: Please note that if you are a recruitment agency, you can advertise jobs on the site where you are employing people directly within your organisation, but you cannot advertise jobs on behalf of clients. If a client has signed the Armed Forces Covenant you will need to advertise via their direct employer account on the site.
