1100-1200 Workshop: Have you got what it takes to run a business?
A variety of speakers cover all sorts of aspects of starting a business.  These include David Lawton, a qualified accountant and business adviser, on business planning, structures and HMRC requirements.  Gareth Williams, MD of Wilplan Training, will talk about his experience leaving the Armed Forces and setting up a successful independent business.  Nuco Training will be sharing their business planning approach.  Please book your place by registering your place at the event.

1100-1200 Workshop: Networking for Success
Aware of the diverse backgrounds, qualifications and experiences of those leaving the Armed Forces, guidance will be offered to help preparations for the transition to a second career in civilian life, and the essential networking needed to support this change. Generating business ideas and specific business themes will be covered, along with the key considerations for starting a business – from concept to launch. This workshop will be informative, interactive and fun.

1230 - 1330 Workshop: Have you got what it takes to work in the commercial world?
Gareth Williams, MD of Wilplan Training, discussed attitude versus aptitude. In an environment where those coming out of the Armed Forces are constantly being told their skills are in demand Gareth Williams will give a frank appraisal as to how the right attitude gets results and the job.
Jenny Parry, Head of Resourcing, Harrods
Jenny will talk about the scope of roles within Harrods and the recruitment process.
Gez and Mark, from EDF Energy will give a different perspective on recruitment as Gez works with a number of different areas of recruitment and so will give a holistic perspective and Mark is the training manager, and Ex Military so can talk of his own perspective and is also involved in the interview process.   Please book your place by registering at the event.
